Casey Grooms

Hi! My name is Casey and I am one of the contributors/creators of @my.hearts.treasure!! I am a Tennessee native currently residing in Memphis with my husband Micah and our dog Bailey (@bailey.901). I love watching F•R•I•E•N•D•S, drinking coffee, cheering on the Chicago Cubs and hanging in my hammock. ⠀⠀

My faith came alive as I grew active at the BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministry) in college. The BCM gave me opportunities to serve in missions and through those experiences, God made it clear that he was calling me to serve in full time ministry. I recently graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with my Master of Arts in Discipleship. I’m currently serving as a Student Mobilizer with the International Mission Board where I have the honor of connecting with churches and students, helping them navigate how God could be calling them to serve in missions both short term and long term. ⠀⠀

Discipleship and equipping others to use their gifts to advance the Kingdom of God is something I’m most passionate about and that has led to the creation of this space. There is a gap in the church where many (especially women) are not being discipled and do not see their role in serving the local church. My heart is that through knowing Jesus on a deeper level by studying the word of God, we will all understand better how we can serve Jesus and make his name known in our local communities and around the world.
